I can't hardly believe where the time has gone. I looked back and my last blog was the middle of December! Uff da! - That's my Norwegian heritage coming out. Christmas is always so busy - isn't it? But we really had such a wonderful family time and this year we didn't have to fight the weather to get where we were going. How wonderful! But, a little added extra busy-ness (is that a word) came from my daughter, Jade moving into a new house on December 23rd. We went in on December 22 and cleaned as best we could with the amount of time we had and then right away the next morning we started moving them in. It really went very smoothly and had good help. That night wehad a meal and our Christmas celebration with both my daughters and their boyfriends. We fixed beef tenderloin on the Traeger smoker grill which had wonderful flavor. Then between Christmas and New Years is my Grandma's birthday. She turned 91 on December 29th. How wonderful to still have her with us to enjoy. We had a big birthday bash here at our house in the "party shed". It worked out wonderfully. We had plenty of room to set up tables and have a pot luck meal. We also played Court Whist which Grandma absolutely loves to do! She really prefers "feffer" (a card game) or "500" (another card game) but with the amount of people we had and the different levels of card knowledge this just worked out better.
We had a nice New Years celebrating with some friends at their home on New Years Eve and then just relaxed at home the following day. We did have a bit of nasty weather on New Years Eve but luckily everyone got home with out a hitch!!
Now it's Tax Time! January and February are some of the busiest months for me. You probably would not think so but it really is. All the reports have to be gone through and all totals double checked. Plus of course state and federal reports for the farm and supply company. It's busy but a good time to reflect on the last year.
I had better call it quits for now as my Mom and I are going to travel up to Medford to pick up a sofa table that I bought for our entry way. I can't wait to see how it looks. So for now - Take Care!
Everyday is a Blessing!
